![]() According to ScreenRant, the “Half Life 3” has become more like a joke than an actual possibility of the game to be released anytime soon. Until now, Valve hasn’t confirmed or denied the existence of the “Half Life 3”, but there are rumors which say that the game might be released sometime in 2017-2018. “Half Life 2” failed to come with a concluding narrative, which made the gamers wonder if there will be a sequel of this franchise or not. First surfacing on the forums over at video game website Giant Bomb all the way back in 2013, one rumor that swirls around the next installment in the Half-Life franchise is that Half-Life 3 will be an open-world game. According to some previous reports, the company was working on the sequel for more than a decade, after they’ve released “Half Life 2” back in 2004. But Half-Life fans shouldn’t and never have lost hope, as the re-emergence of a rumor proves. “ Half Life 3” is without any doubts one of the most anticipated video games in 2015, but until now, nobody knows if Valve is actually working on a third installment of this franchise or not. However, Game Rant advised us to not take Druckmann’s post too serious, as there are no discussions about the production companies regarding the Half Life franchise. With other words, this company has all it needs to work on the upcoming “Half Life 3”. We remind you that Naughty Dog is the company behind some pretty good games such as “Uncharted 4” or “The Last of Us”. Actually, Druckmann somehow joked on Twitter, saying that Naughty Dog is more than willing to continue this franchise if the company will have a chance to do it. Speaking of Alyx, McVicker also mentions that there is “growing internal disappointment with the VR platform on the PC” at Valve, so any follow-up is sounding unlikely, even though there is evidence (via data mining) of some initial work on an Alyx sequel.Īll of this is speculation, naturally, so maintain a healthy sense of skepticism around McVicker’s assertions.Neil Druckmann, the creative director and programmer at Naughty Dog, said that the developing company which hired him is interested in creating the “Half Life 3” game, if Valve will agree with it. So hearing it isn’t underway at Valve is far from a surprise. We’ve pretty much given up on the idea of Half-Life 3 ourselves, and didn’t hold out much hope for it even when folks were getting excited that it could be in the cards back in 2019, and that turned out to be Half-Life: Alyx. (Note that Citadel was rumored back at the start of 2021, and Valve denied any knowledge of the existence of the project). Analysis: Citadel co-op could be a big draw for Steam Deck eventuallyĪll this definitely sounds believable: certainly Valve will be focusing totally on making sure the Steam Deck fulfils its ample promise, and the project known as Citadel makes sense as a vehicle to push the handheld in the future, and to leverage the idea of co-op play. ![]()
